Apa Sherpa, born on January 20, 1960, in Thame, Nepal, is a legendary Nepali mountaineer who summited Mount Everest 21 times, which was a world record at the time. He is also known for setting a speed record for ascending Everest. After retiring from climbing, Apa has been involved in philanthropy through the Apa Sherpa Foundation, which focuses on providing quality education to children in the Himalayan region of Nepal. He has been recognized globally for both his mountaineering achievements and his humanitarian work.
